The Archeological and Ethnological Museum in Alanya has a unique collection of monuments of various cultures from the Phoenicians to the Ottoman Empire. The museum is also responsible for the fortress on the Alanya peninsula. Its towers, bastions and cisterns, an arsenal (tophane) and a shipyard (tersane), mosques and a Byzantine church unite traces of the Greek, Roman, Seldschuken and Ottoman Empires. An impressive outdoor museum awaits the visitor.
Thanks to its various programs and activities, the museum is in constant dialogue with its visitors. In the “Red Tower” (Kizilkule) there is an exhibition for children on the history of the fortress and the harbor!
